Sending Money

  • Visit the nearest agent and remember to bring your identifications, ID or Passport
  • Complete a simple send form and hand it to the Dahabshil agent along with the money you want to send and any applicable fees.
  • Contact the person to whom you’re sending the money and let them know the money is ready for collection although they will still be contacted either by a phone call or sms to go and collect the money.

*You may be required to provide personal identification, usually one or more


*You may also be required to provide proof of income (i.e if the amount is above $ 10,000)


Please note, when completing the transfer form, the recipient’s name on the form must exactly match the name on the ID he or she presents to pick up the transfer. For example, Michael O. Otieno is NOT the same as Michael Omondi Otieno.

Receiving Money

You’ll need the following in order to receive your money transfer:


Please note, your name on the transfer record, completed by the person sending you the transfer MUST exactly match your name as it appears on your official ID.


Requirements vary by state so please ask your local Dahabshil agent for details about their process and procedures.

  • Visit a Dahabshil agent and remember to bring your personal identification.
  • Complete the receiver form at the location and hand the completed form to the Dahabshil agent. Then you will be given your money.

Money is usually available for pickup within 5 minutes.
